Caprese Salad Bites With Balsamic Glaze are a crisp and vibrant appetizer that captures the essence of Italy in every bite. Combining the classic flavors of ripe tomatoes, creamy mozzarella, and fragrant basil, these bite-sized delights aren’t only easy to prepare but also visually appealing.

Drizzled with a sweet and tangy balsamic glaze, they make for a perfect finger food at parties, gatherings, or as a light snack. These delightful bites are versatile and can be customized to suit your taste or dietary preferences.

They’re ideal for showcasing the freshness of summer produce and can be assembled in just a few minutes, making them an excellent choice for last-minute entertaining. Serve them on a beautiful platter for a stunning presentation that will impress your guests.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pint cherry tomatoes
  • 8 ounces fresh mozzarella balls (bocconcini)
  • 1 cup fresh basil leaves
  • 1/4 cup balsamic glaze
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Toothpicks or small skewers

Instructions:

  1. Start by rinsing the cherry tomatoes under cold water and patting them dry with a paper towel. Cut each tomato in half if desired for easier assembly and a more bite-sized portion.
  2. On a cutting board, prepare the fresh mozzarella balls by draining them from their liquid and patting them dry. If they’re larger than cherry tomatoes, you can slice them in half as well.
  3. Begin assembling your Caprese bites by skewering a half cherry tomato followed by a basil leaf, and then a mozzarella ball onto a toothpick or skewer. Repeat this process until all ingredients are used, arranging them neatly on a serving platter.
  4. Once all the bites are assembled, drizzle the balsamic glaze generously over the top. You can also sprinkle a little salt and pepper for added flavor, adjusting to your personal taste.
  5. Serve the Caprese Salad Bites immediately as a crisp appetizer, or cover and refrigerate them for up to an hour before serving to keep them fresh.

Extra Tips:

For an extra touch of flavor, consider marinating the mozzarella balls in olive oil, garlic, or herbs for a few hours before assembling the bites. You can also experiment with different types of balsamic reductions or flavored glazes to customize the taste.

These bites can be made a day in advance; just keep them covered in the refrigerator until ready to serve for maximum freshness!
